School to School Support Programme North Tyneside Learning Trust is keen to offer opportunities for schools to share some of the excellent practice operating within Trust schools. The Trust is encouraging its schools to host Open Events to share and showcase excellent practice. A grant of £500 (full day) or £250 (half day) is available to Trust Partner Schools offering to host an open day to cover the costs of planning, delivery, administration, and refreshments. If your school has the expertise and capacity to host an Open Event please contact samantha.gallilee@ntlearningtrust.org.uk All Events are FREE to Trust Partner Schools with limited places available for non-Trust schools at a charge of £30.00 North Tyneside School / £50.00 North East School All Open Events include a tour of the host school. Watch out for future Open Events which may be of interest to your school. Open Events are advertised in the termly Trust newsletter and reminders also appear in the regular weekly news e-mail to Trust schools. The Great North Maths Hub The Great North Maths Hub, funded by the DfE, provides strategic local leadership to ensure all schools receive tailored maths education support suited to specific needs. Working in partnership with schools, colleges, universities and maths experts, the Great North Maths Hub is harnessing teaching expertise and best practice within the area, for the benefit of all pupils and students in Tyne and Wear and Northumberland.
Apple Regional Training Centre We are delighted to have secured an Apple Regional Training Centre for North Tyneside. The RTC will offer FREE Apple based training for all schools focussing on enhancing and transforming Teaching and Learning with Apple technology. To find out what courses are available please see our events page. For more information on the Apple RTC please click here.
WOW Project The WOW project is designed to equip all children and young people for the World of Work (WOW) and spans every stage of the learning journey, from Early Years Foundation Stage, to Post– 16. Activities are carefully designed in partnership with teachers and business professionals so that pupils gradually build on skills and knowledge gained each year and eventually leave school ‘work ready’. They can then make informed decisions about their next destinations and flourish when they get there. The projects vision is for all children to be inspired, motivated and equipped to reach their full potential. Every child—no excuses. The activities are designed, delivered and supported by teachers, businesses, professional volunteers and partners who are all fully supported and engaged in the WOW programme.
